Fowlchaser Retriever's is located in Southern Michigan. We have been living the dream of owning some of the finest Labrador Retriever's around. We train for obedience, waterfowl hunting and have even had the opportunity to have one of our lab's certified as a therapy dog. We have training available and offer litters from time to time. We are located on a private road in the country on 11 acres. We breed high quality labrador retrievers with great hunting pedigree's that are fit for the field or home. Our labs are well socialized to live in the home or work all day long training or hunting the field.
Welcome
We started with Labradors in 1999 with a rescue dog. We had an interest in hunting birds in the area, so we were introduced to the local HRC club. Invited to come out and see what it was all about, we did and the rest is history in the making. The family oriented atmosphere was incredible as well as seeing exactly what retrievers could do. We joined the club and have been training and running hunt tests since. Sara and I both train our dogs as well as participate in helping others train their dogs.
We purchased Chance in 2000 and started our quest of having a great house pet as well as a dog that would get up at the sight of camo and a shotgun and go on a hunt that would build memories that will last forever. Chance has been just a great dog. He has run numerous test with HRC and Sara went on to be certified as a Therapy Dog. He is of English body build; short, broad head and stocky. There isn't much he would not do to be the first in the truck to go train or to head out on a hunt. He was retired from all hunts and training in 2010. He now is our socializer with our puppies from our litters as they climb and pull on his ears. He is a great teacher for young dogs to mentor on basic obedience.
In 2007, we moved to the country on 11 acres. Very private and quiet. We put in some kennel and an exercise area that dogs can exit runs into a fenced in area to run and stretch. We have a lining field and an area to do basic marking for younger dogs to build confidence. The dogs participate in as many functions as we can involve them with. We really enjoy the Labrador breed for what it offers as not only a well recognized dog breed in public for kindness but all that the breed was developed for. We will continue to produce high quality litters with the breed genetics and characteristics coming first.
